Saturday Dance Party - It’s all about Love, ya’ll

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Saturday Dance Party!  This week’s installment is all about love – in all of its wonderful forms. Beyond the link are three hot dance remixes for you to download and get your big gay dance on!

katy_perry Michael’s Pick of the Week
Since the day I received my iPhone (thanks, baby!), Katy Perry’s tune “I Kissed a Girl” has been my ring tone.  It fell in love with Katy as soon as I heard she used to be a contemporary Christian music singer and is now singing about tongue-f*cking a chick.  hot times infinity.

DJ Punto put together a swingin’ remix [download] that has me wanting to make out with a female myself.  It is that hot, for real.

donna_summer DJ Kevin Duvall has put together a nice (if minimal) remix of the Donna Summer classic “I Feel Love (2008 Baggi Begovic Vocal Mix)” [download].  I’ve been a fan of Miss Summer since I was only a wee little homo-in-training, and this has always been a fave.  This mix won’t win any awards for innovative ideas, but it has just enough Donna stank on it to make it worth the download.

Plus, I always love it when I’m in a club and actually hear a song that I remember from the good ol’ days.  It gives me an excuse to bitchslap the first queen who says “OMG!  This is so old!”

REM Along the same lines is this classic track by R.E.M. turned instant club hit by Blake Jarrell’s remix of “The One I Love”[download].  I was such an R.E.M. fanboy back in the day that this almost edged out Katy Perry as my pick this week.

Alas, Michael Stype would never kiss a girl.

    I want to like Katy Perry’s tune. It’s got a great beat, sounds like sex and is ostensibly about sexual experimentation, which I’m almost always in favor of.

    The problem is that the character in the song is the same girl all my bisexual female friends get pissed off by: The girl that will kiss you, maybe even sleep with you but won’t date you, because, y’know… they’re not gay.

    I know where you’re coming from, but I just can’t help myself. Maybe it is because I am used to screwing straight guys and just resigned myself to their denial long ago.
